Party Central

A few weeks ago we celebrated Kaylee's 4th birthday, my Mom's 50th and Kylie's baby shower. Oh and did I mention they were all the same week. Also my mom's was a surprise party. Yea, it was crazy town at my house. Needless to say after some stress filled moments and a LOT of baking we survived and had 3 awesome parties.
1. Kaylee's Fancy Nancy Birthday Party
Imagine 15 little girls all dressed to the T getting their hair, makeup and nails done. Oh and throw in a tea party and some dancing. Kaylee had such a good time and we were so happy with how everything turned out. Luckily I had the help of my mom and sister and some rocking friends who helped make the party a huge success. Thank you everyone who came!!

 2. Mom's 50th Surprise  Party
Katie and I decided we wanted to throw my mom a  party forever ago. Once the invites were done and sent out, which of course we put her name wrong on, we went into serious plan mode. We had the help of some family, but Katie and I spear headed the entire thing which was a lot of work. After a few crazy days of staying up late to finish banners, centerpieces and our main gift the day arrived and everything went so well. We took an old senior picture of my mom and all recreated it. It was awesome. Thanks Mikey! She loved it. Friends and family came to support my mom and she was so surprised and so happy. Thanks to everyone who came to show love for my mom and for those who helped with the treats!
*Of course we were so happy to have everything done that we didn't get that many pictures of the actual event :( Oh well it rocked. Love you Mom!
Visited Mom at school on her actual Birthday. Made her think that was it :)

 What a beauty
Kaylee of course entertained us with a Haley Reinhart version of Benny & the Jets ;)
 3. Kylie's Baby Shower
Alexa was the chief on this awesome shower. She did such a great job putting everything together. We had some delicious food, yummy deserts and a really nice time. Kylie got some great gifts and cute outfits that we can't wait to see on little Miss Evalyn! Congrats Kylie & Daniel. We are so happy for you!

Kaylee Christine

Our little Kaylee turned 4 today. How crazy! It really seems like it was not long ago that we were in Emeryville surprised when my water broke 3 weeks early, going to the most ghetto hospital, to have the most "interesting" labor. All the craziness aside we had the cutest little girl and now she is 4! Wow, it really does fly by.

Kaylee is the best! She is a great big sister and an amazing daughter. She is kind, fun, spunky, sassy and smart! She amuses us with her wit and cleverness. She amazes us with her talent and abilities. She makes us proud with her sweet spirit and demeanor. She is wonderful! We love you Kaylee Christine! Happy Birthday big girl!

Mother's Day

We had a wonderful Mother's Day this year! Shane let me sleep in, I got the awesome Our Best Bites Cookbook, adorable cards from my family and a delicious dinner at Carrabbas :) I love being a Mom. It's the hardest job, yet the most rewarding.

How can you not love these faces!

Happy Mother's Day to my amazing Mom. She is the best Grandma and mom ever. We love her to pieces. Thanks for all you've taught me. I love you!

Happy Mother's Day to the Best mother-in-law! She too is the best Grandma! She is kind and generous and has always made me feel like a daughter :)  Thanks for everything you do!! We love you so much!!
Also to all the other Mother's in my life. From family and  friends, to Grandmother's and women who have been like mother's to me. I hope you had a fantastic mother's day!! I love you!!!

I am 16...wait?!?

I am constantly being told that I look like I am still in high school. I usually smile and secretly get a little annoyed. However my young face has finally come in handy. I went to audition with Katie for the Sound of Music put on by the Sundance Summer theatre. I was nervous to audition because it has honestly been A WHILE since I have sung or danced or did anything like it...unless Ward Choir counts :) I have always wanted to do a play, and even though I was pretty nervous, Katie convinced me to come with her. I put together a resume, chose a song, took a head shot and headed to my first audition since 2005. I had a mad case of pre-performance butterflies beforehand, but the audition went well. I was happy about my song and was really happy I ended up doing it. I thought that was it. Then I got an email.

Hello Shara,
This is Mel, the stage manager for THE SOUND OF MUSIC. We would like to thank you for your audition, and invite you to join us for callbacks Monday evening, May 2, to read for the role of Liesl.
What?!? I was so excited, although I did find it hilarious that I was called back for the role of a 16 year old girl. Overall the audition process was fun and it made me feel confident in my abilities. Katie ended up getting the part which I was so happy about! (There were 5 of us called back) I'm just glad to know that even though I am a mom who has been out of the game for a long time I still have that passion and love for the arts. I hope this is the first of many auditions. Until next time, I am 16 going on 17 :)
